Work Support & Return To Work Rehabilitation

We play a vital role in vocational rehabilitation by helping individuals regain the skills and confidence needed to return to work after an injury, illness, or disability.

Work plays a crucial role in an individual’s life, both as a source of income as well as fostering a sense of purpose and identity.

A mental health or neurological condition can significantly impact an individual's functioning in the workplace in several ways. These conditions may affect cognitive processes such as attention, memory, and problem-solving, leading to difficulties in completing tasks efficiently. Emotional symptoms, such as anxiety or depression, can hinder motivation and engagement, affecting an employee’s overall productivity and interaction with colleagues.

The workplace environment, including stressors and the level of social support available, can further influence how these conditions manifest and affect one's performance. Understanding these challenges is essential in fostering an inclusive work environment that accommodates individuals’ needs, promoting their ability to thrive and contribute meaningfully.

Our Process

Our process begins with comprehensive assessments to understand the client's physical, cognitive, and/or emotional abilities, as well as their limitations and work-related goals.

We then collaborate with our clients to develop personalized intervention plans that may include task-specific training, cognitive rehabilitation or adaptive strategies.

When needed, the occupational therapist can collaborate with the workplace to facilitate a supportive environment.

Reasonable accommodations in the workplace refer to adjustments or modifications made by an employer to enable an employee with a disability or specific needs to perform their job effectively.
